Spiders are so cool that I must take this photo. Well… not only this but 36 shots in order to have something good. The problem was the light and noise on high ISO photos. My Canon G9 doesn’t do a good job when I use ISO 400, what I really need, so I decided to use low (80) ISO, ND filter, flash (the weakest posssible) and work on aperturte and exposure.

I made some experiments until get this photo with f6.3 and exposure 1/60″ but due to flash the contrast is not ok. That is the problem with macro lens, you have to stay to near to the object. Next time I will try to take such pictures with a tele len in order to be far and reduce the flash effect (this lack of contrast). A bigger spider will be required once the macro lens is 10x and my tele just 2x!!
